Mission:
LifePath Hospice and Palliative Care is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide quality palliative care and relieve the suffering of those in our communities affected by life-limiting illnesses and end-of-life issues, while maintaining the highest ethical standards, so all may live as fully and comfortably as possible.

Executive Summary:
LifePath Hospice employs an interdisciplinary team approach to care by providing physicians, nurses, home health aides, certified nursing assistants, homemakers, counselors, chaplains and trained volunteers. LifePath Hospice provides services regardless of race, color, creed, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, disease diagnosis or ability to pay.

Founded in 1983, LifePath Hospice serves Hillsborough County through four regional community resource centers, two hospice houses and a corporate office. Additionally, we provide hospice programs and services to the counties of Polk, Hardee and Highlands under the name of Good Shepherd Hospice through five community resource centers and two hospice houses. Combined, the LifePath Hospice organization serves more than 2,100 patients a day, making it the largest, free-standing, community-based, not-for-profit hospice in the United States.

Volunteer opportunities are available to support our patient and family services, two thrift store operations, various regional and corporate office locations and through our community speaker’s bureau.

LifePath Hospice focuses on managing the pain and symptoms of a patient’s disease improving quality of life, not hastening the progression of the disease. We have a working relationship with many local healthcare providers including area physicians, hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
