Mission:
To provide primary and diagnostic health care to individuals and families who are unable to afford adequate healthcare due to financial reasons.

  • Founded in 1987 by local community volunteers, many of whom are still involved with the clinic today.
  • Is funded entirely from community donations.
  • Is staffed primarily by practitioners and community partners who donate their time to provide primary care to the patients.
  • Provides free primary health care services to individuals who do not have health insurance, do not qualify for any government assisted medical program, and whose income falls below 200% of the federal poverty level.
  • Provides free specialty care through partnerships with local area physicians, diagnostic facilities and Brandon Regional Hospital.
  • Provides social service screening and appropriate referrals to other agencies.
  • Had over 2200 patient contacts in 2005.
  • Provided over 2400 prescription medications for our patients in 2005

Executive Summary:
Brandon Outreach Clinic was established to provide primary and diagnostic health care to individuals and families who are uninsured and do not qualify for government assisted health care programs. Free primary health care is provided at the clinic three days a week for those individuals who qualify under the clinic guidelines. The clinic is primarily staffed by volunteers from the community and is supported entirely by donations.
Due to the limited number of practitioners at the clinic, we can only treat an average of 25 patients a week. This falls short of the need in the community and results in a constant challenge trying to meet the medical demands of the uninsured in our community. Frequently, these sick individuals end up in a hospital emergency room seeking treatment that could have been rendered in a primary care setting.

At present, the clinic is having difficulty in two areas; shortage of primary care physicians willing to volunteer at the clinic and an inability to hire additional medical providers due to the uncertainty of funds. For more information about donations or volunteer opportunities, contact:
